Learning Bright: A Minimalistic and Professional Office Space

Enhancing the Learning Experience with a Bright and Sharp Design

The inspiration for Learning Bright comes from contemporary minimalistic and professional office spaces where companies showcase their organizational spirit. The design team wanted to create a space that would give students a sense of professionalism and motivate them to excel in their educational journey. The bright and airy atmosphere, combined with golden accents, offers a perspective of already being part of a productive society.

One of the unique features of Learning Bright is its emphasis on brightness and sharpness. The entire space is white and bright, with a few surfaces treated in golden finishes. The low ceiling posed a challenge, but it was cleverly addressed by using reflective aluminum panels, which visually double the height of the space between the entrance and the reception counter.

The design of Learning Bright utilizes common techniques found in contemporary Japanese interiors. The walls are made of LGS structure covered in plasterboard panels, finished in white with wall paper or decorative sheets. The golden accents on the walls and the reception counter are also made from these decorative sheets. To ensure security, reflective aluminum panels were used for the ceiling instead of mirrors.

The layout of Learning Bright is designed to facilitate interaction and functionality. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a large white hall leading to the reception counter. The floor leading to the counter is finished in grey carpet tiles, while the ceiling above is adorned with reflective aluminum panels. To the right, counseling tables are located, furnished with blue velvet chairs. On the left, the meeting and conference room is visually connected to the reception space through a glazed wall. The classrooms are located behind the reception counter's back wall, accessible from the right.

The construction of Learning Bright began in November 2018 and was completed in December 2018. The project was located in Kyobashi, Osaka City, Japan. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to promote a positive spirit and stimulate the learning processes in students' minds. The design team aimed to bridge the gap between the educational and professional worlds, introducing brightness and sharpness as encouraging elements for future success.

Learning Bright has received recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit creativity, resourcefulness, and technical excellence, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
